Featuring Dr. Magda Lilia Chelly

Managing Director | Responsible Cyber Pte. Ltd.

Cyber attacks are increasingly using social engineering methods. In fact, cyber criminals integrate the company’s or the employee’s data in the attack preparation phase. They, then perform the attack with easily accessible tools over the Internet.

Social engineering represents a science mixed with art. It is based on human behavior and psychology. It does trigger deep functions of the human brain like trust, attraction, authority, submission, and others.

As per recent researches, human error is the cause of most attacks. An employee being social engineered or phished is an easy cost-reduced attack.

This situation led to social engineering simulations, implemented by companies to understand their employees’ behavior, and raise their awareness. The simulations or tests target key employees in the company, handling confidential data with specific responsibilities.

My presentation explains how the tests are prepared and run. I address additional topics like metrics and measures to define a company’s maturity.
